    All right, so I’m slow to catch up on my podcasts. Right around 27:40, I was thinking, “This would be a great place in the conversation to bring up Searle’s Chinese Room though experiment,” and almost as if on cue you bring it up, and Ryan and Tyson go, “No, I’ve never heard of it”, so you go, “Oh, well, nevermind.”

    It’s too bad, because it’s a great way of addressing both the shortcomings of the Turing test and what we mean when we say that people themselves have minds.

    Anyway, here’s a great Web site that discusses the Chinese room as a rebuttal to the Turing test and also the shortcomings and presuppositions of both:
